A Cloverfield Review

I finally watched Cloverfield last night, i kinda missed it when it was shown in theaters, and this film deserve to be watched in theaters to feel the bigness or hugeness of the monster. I did liked the film esp i do like the giant monster genre almost comparable to the Host for entertainment value, the technique is of course not new, weve seen it before (blair witch, last broadcast...), even the genre itself has been explored/exploited enough and if not executed right will only be outright boring or hilarious at most.

I dont find Cloverfield boring though it has this War of The Worlds feel to it (after the initial destruction everyone is walking for the bridge), maybe it lacks the paranoia often attached to this kind of film but you know its still has surprises in it. the acting is not really bad, they looked rather "neat" most of the time (too neat even after all that dust and grime).

All in all its good for a monster film, some people in the internet find this film crappy or bad or boring and i dont know i mean its not that bad, its no Citizen Kane of course but come on. If you watched film with pre concieved notion that it will be bad then it will be bad shouldnt we all have to have an open mind or you know see the film on its own merit or something, because if there is one thing i know... its so damn hard to make a film so might as well give compliment to those people who has the balls to make one.

I totally agree! People tend to criticize everything, not taking time to consider all the hard work, courage, and passion that people behind the scenes gave in order to make a film or a book or a song for that matter. We gotta put our hands down to those people who persevere in spite of all the negative feedback they receive at the end of the day.
